Worlds R3, R5, and Rδ have been reset. Time in all three worlds will be paused until Tuesday, June 3 @ 04:00 UTC (midnight EDT).

Feel free to set up your initial routes in the meantime.

Good luck and have fun!

IIRC, these worlds don't have 1 airline in first week restrictions in previous rounds.

As has been shown in recently reset R1 (which is now full), this measure is ineffective in allowing more users to play.

All it does is turning R0-R6 into S3, punishing rule abiding players while rewarding rule breaking players.

At the same time this will also encourage more players to create multiple accounts.

Can you elaborate on how R1 being full has shown the measure's ineffectiveness? I don't quite follow that logic.

We have only a certain amount of players. Unless they all suddenly change their online habit and grab airline slots in shorter time then before, the time it takes for a world to get fully filled will be 2x longer if players previously can create 2 airlines per world but now only one.

Isn't that a good thing? By restricting the number of airlines players are allowed to create at the beginning, it allows more players into the world. Believe it or not, there are generally more players that want to get into a new world than there are slots available, so the 1 airline/player limit helps spread out the distribution.

As QK pointed out, that's the point of the restriction. Previously, popular worlds would get filled up before they were even unpaused. Many players who didn't happen to find out about the reset and join within that 48-hour window couldn't get in, while players who did already went for seconds. This policy gives players more time to join new worlds before they are filled up by people starting second airlines. I'm not sure how many you think is "a certain amount of players," but we have more than enough to fill up a game world after one resets.

Maybe certain worlds are more popular than others and I am comparing apples and oranges, but it would still help to show past statistics of how long it takes to fill up each world each round, which would also help justify players' call for "we need more XXX worlds".

Yes, theoretically this change of policy should help less frequent players, but in practice I doubt. I remain skeptical about "we have more than enough players to fill up a game world after one resets"; if you say "we have more than enough accounts", then yes.

Also, encouraging players to stay longer in a game world should reduce # players seeking newly reset worlds. 5 years before a world resets, you can see < 20 active airlines (again, showing statistics will help).
